Around my neighborhood, people try to grow their own lettuce, carrots, tomatoes and Swiss chard. That way they know that it hasn't been drowned with dreadful chemicals. There are many tips to be found online about how to grow your own veggies. Or ask your Grandma!

Home grown veggies taste so much better than supermarket fare. They have a much better flavor, and it's worth the trouble.
